Why is Obama doing so well and seemingly building his lead? I think this reporter nailed it on the head.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but in the past 48 hours Obama has lost 0.8% and McCain has picked up a full percentage point in the polls (RCP average 10/05-10/07) cutting his 6.8% lead to 5.1%. If Barr and Nader are figured in, the lead for obama is 4.2% without taking into account ultra liberal African-American Cynthia MacKinney. The bubba vote is expected to be possibly as high as 7%, but were in uncharted waters here so who knows? Important to note is that at this point in their respective elections, both Kerry and Gore were ahead in the polls. Furthermore, regardless of what they say to pollsters, voters tend to vote for Republican Presidents and divided government.

The media loves OBAMA more than McCain.

People watch the media so the more you see of Obama, the more people vote for him. This is the power of repetitive marketing.

Obama in the media generates more audience which means more money for the network. It's all in the money. $$$$$$ Also, the media is probably afraid of being accused of being racist if they showed more of McCain.

I would not be surprised that even after all these media coverage of Obama, that McCain wins the ticket. All the media coverage does is artificially raise the votes for Obama based on repetitive coverage of Obama. Therefore if McCain wins, Obama should never complain that he was not given enough media coverage.

If Obama wins presidency then it will be because he had 20 times more media coverage than McCain.

Obama is basically the latest FAD. Once that fad goes away, that's it. So Obama should enjoy this plenty of coverage now.

That's the power of the media even though others are more qualified than Obama. The media may sway the votes.


It's the same thing as the media covering Paris Hilton a lot even though she is virtually useless. The media loves her because I guess people want to see her.
