What's up, guys? The market is crashing, the economy is in a shambles and it seems like all I'm hearing from the right is the smear-o-the-day about Obama.

How about telling us why McCain's economic plan is better than Obama's? Or why his plan for Afghanistan is better? Or his health care plan?

We've got three weeks before we vote. Why don't you try to convince us to vote FOR McCain instead of against Obama?

Oh, but everyone knows that old hippies are so much more interesting than ideas.

They are talking about ideas about the same as Obamas supporters.

True conservatives dont want government invading their lives, true liberals are more then happy to have government invading the lives of conservatives. No matter what is said on these threads, liberals think they are exempt from all of the government intrusion until of course it happens to them..

If you have to ask someone to convince you to vote for less government, you just dont get it.

Everyone just has their fingers in their ears going.. nah nah nah nah, I cant hear you!!!

Well, unlike Obama... McCain has an actual track record and has proposed specific ideas to deal with our domestic and international situations.... But it's pretty hard to have an honest policy discussion with a shapeshifter who will say ANYTHING to get elected.... Unfortunately the masses enjoy hearing what they want to hear and for the sake of the country it's time to put the spotlight on the shapeshifter and expose what lies beneath the rhetoric and poli-speak

Really! So it wasn't "true" conservatives that voted overwhelmingly for the "Patriot Act? Voted for the Medicare Prescription Scam? For the nationalizing of our banks?

True conservatives may not want the government in "their" lives, just in everyone else's.

The point is...where is the debate regarding healthcare plans, tactics in foreign policy, the economy/taxes (and not distortions, but debate). As for your concerns about government intrusion, etc. If I were a traditional GOP fiscal conservative...I would have nowhere to turn here. And I share some of their views. But when you are faced with the largest spending presidency on record (and ironically a conservative backed regime), and your candidate on the Republican ticket has countered in his most recent debate that he now wants to buy mortgages, it has to be maddening. The most worrisome economic plan I see is the taxing of healthcare benefits. Egads! And the 5k will buy you nothing if you know anything about standard headcount costs of traditional group coverage plans. You would still be about 8k short of most if not all medical plans. McCain could have won if he got specific and organized about a rescue for this economy. Up until two weeks ago there was a lot of swing vote to be had. I am not some liberal with blinders on, I am somebody who was considering a vote for McCain in 2000. His has blundered mightily. And the domestic terror stuff is starting to make all Republicans look like wackos. I would be very angry if this was happening to my party.

^LOL, very true.

Republicans these days are VERY DIFFERENT from the original thought of the Republican party.

They are for a LARGE government involved in EVERYBODY'S life.

I love brainwashed people.

Seems you're so busy being hypnotized by Obama's empty promises of 'hope' and 'change' that you're not up to date on the issues. Over 300 economists have endorsed McCain's economic plan (July press release figures, The Economist now has it at 530 economists).

Because someone knowing someone who did something 40+ years ago is more important than the financial stability and future of our country. What planet are you from ? COMMIE!
