Oh! No! I wasn't correcting you. You were very correct. Cook County alone has almost 10 times the population of the entire state of Alaska.

I was just adding on to what you said.

Table 4 -Preliminary January through June 2007 (http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/prelim2007/table4il_mo.htm - broken link)

Chicago has a population of 2,857,796 according to the FBI crime statistics.

In 2006 and 2007 there were 201 murders.

That is one out of every 14,217.89 people who were murdered in Chicago. (divide the population by the number of murders)

Table 4 -Preliminary January through June 2007 (http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/prelim2007/table4al_ca.htm - broken link)

Phoenix has a population of 1,517,443 according to the FBI crime statistics.

In 2006 there were 119 murders and in 2007 there were 111 murders.

That is one out of every 12,751.62 people who were murdered in Phoenix in 2006 and one in every 13,670.66 people in 2007.

Per capita there were significantly MORE murders in Phoenix, Arizona. Since John McCain represents Arizona it is clearly all his fault that so many people in Phoenix were murdered. He MUST be a running a campaign of TERROR.

Arizona Senators

Jon Kyl (R)
John McCain (R)

Oh you left out all the Republican Congress members from Illinois...I fixed that right up for you.

ILLINOIS REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMEN:

Peter Roskam (R)
Mark Steven Kirk (R)
Jerry Weller (R)
Judy Biggert (R)
Timothy Johnson (R)
Donald Manzullo(R)
Ray LaHood (R)
John Shimkus (R)

Gotta love silly spin and misleading talking points.

Hmm...for Chicago you use this statistic

Yet for Phoenix, you use this format
Quote:

Are you really that blatant?

Actually, crime has been much lower in Chicago these past few years. It has risen this year, but prior to this year, it has been dropping steadily. Back in the early 90's there were almost 1000 murders here a year, now there are less than 500 a year. Having spent most of my life in Chicago, I can assure you, it is a much better place than it was 20 years ago.

Open the link...the number for 2006 was 201 and the number for 2007 was also 201 for Chicago. The numbers were not the same for Phoenix. It wasn't meant to be confusing...I was just trying to be grammatically correct.
