Thats not what I am talking about and you know it. The sheer volume of vitriolic posts against Palin is what you consider to bieng equal to 1 report on Michelle Obama...now whos not paying attention?
You aren't. Still...
I never equated "1 report on Michelle Obama" to all the press attention that Palin's getting and you know it.
What you still don't grasp is that Obama and his family have been in the spotlight for more than a year. Palin - about six weeks. The press attention for her has been compressed into a much tighter schedule, is all. If she can't take the attention, then she can easily claim "I need to spend more time with my family" and step off the stage.
Doesn't appear that she's so inclined. All of this media attention seems to be bothering you much more than it bothers her.
His wife is bright and well educated. His daughters are young and adorable. By all accounts he is a decent family man.
On the flip side-
McCain cheated on his first wife and left her b/c she was crippled.
Palin has yet to raise one child who is going to college. Her family appears to be white trash.
Misconception? What misconception...just from reading the thread topics the past several weeks, I'd say the anti-Palin posts have been steadily outnumbering the anti-Obama posts by at least 2 to 1. You don't think that constitutes more scrutiny?
Nope.
I think the preceding 18 months of public scrutiny that Obama and family underwent is orders of magnitude greater than the past few weeks that Palin experienced. The media coverage of Palin might seem like more, but that's easily explained by a couple of clearly apparent factors:
First, Palin's coverage has been compressed into what - about six weeks, so it's been more concentrated. Before September, hardly anyone outside of Alaska knew anything about her. Being presented as a major party's VP candidate invited lots of scrutiny.
Second, it turned out she had some very interesting skeletons in her closet: Hubby's affiliation with a separatist group, preggers teen daughter, troopergate. These things all invited closer investigation.
Also, her inablity to think on her feet raised LOTS of concern about her being picked for a very high national office.

Public scutiny? As far as i know only FOX news and talk radio have said anything to "Scrtinize" NObama
They have trashed Obama and his family since the primary season, and then we get a new comer to the stage with not much time for scrutiny. It just seems like it's a lot, because we have such little time to get to know and air all of her dirty business. Believe me though, Obama has seen more despicable scrutiny than gov. Palin!
Hey, Palin marches her family out there all the time - placing them in the spotlight herself.
Plus, Obama has been under intense media scrutiny for the last 20 months and survived the "kitchen sink" treatment from Hillary. There are no credible darts left to throw at him - nice try old dude!
Maybe because she's part of a separatist group?
Oh but she is not CBS did a retract on the story.
Her jock husband was (for 7 years), and this July she recorded a welcome to the AIP convention saying they were an important part of the Alaska government, that she supported them, and of course a couple of 'god bless' thrown in.
