Isn't that "redistributing the wealth"

If that's the case, how can you vote for Sarah Palin, who governs over the most "socialistic" state in the country?

After all, not only do they tax the profits of oil companies to give a check to every Alaskan, but the state receives more federal funds by far -pork if you will - than any other state in the union. This despite the fact that they are near the bottom in terms of income tax contributions to the federal government.

In short, me, you and the oil companies are distributing our wealth to Alaskans, many of whom belong to a party, the AIP, so anti-american that their founder refused to be buried in our country.

But what's more scary is that they don't even hide thier intentions. John McCain already warned us that he wants the government, our tax dollars, to buy up every every distressed mortgage at peak value, a value that will not be seen for decades. We can't afford that kind of socialism. Socialism socialism socialism.

That's why Obama wants to cut taxes on the middle and working class. Because he knows we're tired of paying for Sarah Palin's bridges to nowhere.

Sarah Palin's Alaskonomics - TIME

We must stop the creeping onslaught of socialism. Say no to Socialist Sarah and her soulmate John "We're going to buy every house in America" McCain.

Is not the same because they are drilling in public property, and not private property.
Public property belongs to everyone.

Actually it is on federal land but only Alaskans got the benefit of it. Also, since higher taxes raise prices, the rest of the real Americans paid more so Alaskans could have windfall. But it is a form of wealth redistribution but no industries were nationalized, but they are subsidized on federal land.

Is taxing the profits on Alaska's oil and gas to distribute a check to every citizen socialism?

Why yes, I believe it is! LOL! Why the mental gymnastics about "public property" and "private property". It is a tax on a business, that is then re-distributed!
