I disagree that a vote for McCain is a sign of racism or ignorance.
If Obama were white and McCain were black, Obama would still have my vote because I agree with his vision of America and I believe he is what this country needs right now.
I am not a racist and I would not feel guilty for voting for what I believe in. Thank God we live in a country that allows us to vote.
However, although I don't believe everyone who votes for McCain are racist, there are comments being made everywhere- including on this forum and within my own family that lead me to believe that this campaign is bringing out latent racism everywhere. People I never considered to be racist are making very disgusting comments.
And here with the anonymity of the internet, comments are not spun or veiled- they are fairly blatant.
I'm sure some of the people who support McCain for the right reasons even see this and can acknowledge that this is happening.
Sadly I can't disagree that some McCain supporters are racist however racists aren't always white. Their are plenty of racist people from many races. That is the real problem. I realize that some white people have given us a bad rap however just calling someone a racist because they don't want to vote for someone is ignorant.
Yea, it's amazing to me how these obama is a socialist folks came crawling out of the woodwork after the republican backed socialism for the rich bill.
I recall seeing AFL-CIO Treasurer "Richard Trumka on Racism and Obama" asserting that any worker not voting for Obama is a racist.

I vote independently, but I vote for candidates who support smaller government. It is dangerous to reduce politics to angry partisan emotions. There are plenty of corrupt, socialist, third world governments that exploit their workers by exploiting their emotions. They make little or no effort to educate the general public about the importance of critical public policy matters, and just insist that a wealthy elite should control the economy and public policy matters.
I believe in democracy and constitutionally limited government. I believe that the Bill of Rights still means something, and that we must return money, power, and decision making back to the local level.
I am an American, and I have voted Republican more often because I have seen that most of them have decent voting records, because I read the bills and get actively involved. I did not vote for McCain, Sununu, Bradley, or Bush, because I did not see a strong commitment on their parts to freedom, or to public service on Bush's part.
I rarely vote Democrat because most Democratic politicians seem crooked, sneaky, and dishonest. They are voting as a block for a controlling, socialist agenda, and I can't pretend that they are a legitimate political party. They are a coalition of interest groups that are trying to squeeze as much money out of business owners, investors, and taxpayers as they can, and people in this country are migrating away from Democratically controlled states.

Did you vote for G.W. ? If so,anything you say after that statement will make your credibility zero.
As a blackman I liked Mcclain before he got the repub nomination, it seems after that he changed into something many of his original supporters disliked including getting that stupid bobblehead as a running mate.
What this country needs is a real third or fourth party b/c at this point we as American people are voting for the lesser of two evils i.e Bush vs Kerry or Bush vs anyone
I wouldn't vote for Obama even if he was an albino. I am not voting for him because he is a socialist. And we all know socialists come in all colors.
Yes, you said it..socialism is what started WWII....we don't want or need that in this nation....why this country voted him in is probably due to the other option....was no better....
if republicans are smart, they will vote mccain out in the primary and vote in the minuteman project founder, simcox.
