Seriously?!?!? I guess they no longer have a reason to lie, of course in 3 years when questioned again I wonder what Obama will say and I wonder how many people will be foolish enough to believe him?

- President Barack Obama's treasury secretary on Sunday said he cannot rule out higher taxes to help tame an exploding budget deficit and his chief economic adviser would not dismiss raising them on middle-class Americans as part of a health care overhaul.

We've been fighting two wars for years and been losing middle class jobs to foreign countries for a decade now. Taxes need to go up. Maybe then people will elect folks who will put America #1 on the list of who to look out for.

what obama inherited from the previous president genius was a total mess , much bigger than what anybody thought.
what do you suggest he should do instead?
the war and the free reign [ fully endorsed by previous administration] of the banks and lending institutions sank this country ,
i find it so interesting how people are trying to put this on obama's clock. where was all the outrage before???
Mr. bush had eight years to fix things "his way ", i do believe "his way" is why we are in this mess.

I always wonder why the people who voted for him (70% of Meck) never chime in on these threads? Just ones bitching about local radio. LOL.

I think most of us here saw this coming. I am dizzy with all that has happened in the past 6 months...I am just sick thinking of what is still ahead of us over the next 3 1/2 years.

There was outrage. I think the biggest thing people are upset with is how Obama promised "no new taxes" yet 6 months later that's what he is doing.

If they have to raise taxes I think we all can understand that. It's when they get elected on the basis of not doing something yet do it anyway that gets people upset. And rightly so.

When did Obama promise no new taxes? I don't remember hearing that. Do you have a quote or article link?

I'm currently being taxed $1,000/mo by my insurance company. Whatever it takes to make go away.
