I can't picture McCain taking time to read to kids. However, I also can't picture ANYBODY callous and stupid enough to continue reading a storybook when the country they are leading has just been bombed. When I first heard Bush had done so, I went straight to Snopes convinced that even he couldn't possibly be that much of a moron.
Well who would read King and King? Oh yeah its required reading in Mass.
Pretty sure Obama and Biden both have autograghed copies.
What should Bush have done? Got up ran out of the building? Or stay calm and wait for more data? It takes time to get the big jet ready to go. I have no issue with how he handled that day. Hind sight is always 20/20 and so could have and should haves abound. Most if not all america was in shock while it was happening. Imagine being in the hot seat for that one. Is it nation wide? Is there a terrorist on every flight? What flights would be targeted? Should we shoot down every plane that is suspisious to be safe? We could have reacted faster. The system was deeply flawed and has been modified.
