It was an issue at some point but as it got closer to election time they narrowed it down to a handful of things. The illegal immigrants issue got kicked to the curb months ago. McCain got hammered for his standing on the issue. The thing is he, like many citizens of border states realized you cannot stop them from coming across the border. They will find a way. And we aren't so inhumane of a country to put up a Berlin Wall in our own back yard. We realize those people just want to make a living and aren't really taking jobs away from us. They're doing the jobs we won't do...because the pay sucks, they're dirty, and sometimes dangerous. So yeah...they can keep those jobs.

....and with the economy in the crapper it was just the long pole in the tent of issues. If the Dow had peaked at election time instead of a year ago the economy wouldn't have been an issue at all.

Luzianne - I think that has been possible since the age of television.

Nothing new.

USA Today has a breakdown of contributions.

And I saw the typo when I posted but I didn't think I needed to go back and change it; figured everyone would figure it out. There's a difference between a typo and not being able to spell, space and punctuate correctly. The former is a slip of the fingers, the latter shows a lack of knowledge/education.

Every single person here should be upset with the price of elections. It's a complete waste of money and it gets worse every year. Where are we going to draw the line? Both candidates wasted huge amounts of money, and that's THE issue.
