I'm grievously offended by Obama's choice of Inaugural Poet.

Elizabeth Alexander, of all people!

I don't even like her poems. Oh, the humanity! Obama needs to reconsider!

Poet Elizabeth Alexander to read at inauguration

Probably. I started the thread about Rick Warren meaning well. I thought Obama was smart in trying to mend fences. Boy was I wrong about the reaction.

Exactly. I think it makes great sense to have Rick Warren do the invocation.

It amazes me how many people think that disagreement automatically means people are mortal enemies.

Very small minded.

Thank you both. Disagreement is healthy if it is based on fact and is tolerant of the other side and its feelings. I have not seen much of that on this forum.

Are you kidding?

The Venus Hottentot was a totally one-sided political pot-shot! Totally unacceptable!

Obama needs to pull the plug on this woman immediately!

Damn, I was hoping someone would start a bitter debate about what the wonderful Aretha is going to sing at the inauguration. Hopefully she will belt out one of her great gospel songs.

That's a different thread.

And I certainly hope she covers that enormous cleavage of hers when she sings!
