I live in a capitalist country and believe in the capitalist philosophy. Again the only reason the word socialism is being brought up is because of irresponsibly journalism and campaign mud slinging. If Obama had picked better words than "spread the wealth" then we would not be having this discussion. No, America is not headed into socialism, we will remain a capitalist nation and anyone saying different does not know what socialism truly means.

You know little about capitalism if you think the USA is capitalist.

Yeah good point... Except the US is definitely a capitalist nation. I mean theres no argument to that at all. Show me any shred of evidence that the US isn't capitalist. I really can't believe you just said that.

The government controls business here,we have untold amounts of regulation and rules to govern business.

If you want a REALLY dry article on one aspect of this I can provide it for you...has to deal with healthcare.

Haha ok you are just confused on the definition of socialism, thats what I thought before too. Really go look up what socialist countries have done concerning businesses and you will see that they are two completely different ideals. Just because there are regulations on a company does not automatically make it a socialist government. Really like you can find all of this information on the web.

Thats your problem oz, youre trying to take the literal definition of socialism off of wikipedia and apply it to a real government. I'd equate that to translating spanish words into english and trying to decipher what they said. It just doesn't work that way. You have to understand previous socialist societies to truly grasp what socialism is, which you obviously haven't.

I don't understand you people.
When does anything the government runs work well?

When the government runs everything, no one will do anything for themselves.
It will destroy America.
