For the most part, it will not be an issue. Even though certain fundamentalist religions do not accept the teachings of the Mormon faith, most voters on the right know that voting for a president is not voting for a religious leader. One has nothing to do with the other.

I wish you were right, dixiegirl. I personally think that "most voters on the right" are far too prejudiced to see it your way.

I love Marco Rubio, but think there will be an eligibility issue there.

I agree on all them being good potential candidates. A fiscal conservative team for the record books, perhaps.

Nita
Look at the uproar that ensued over President Obama's religion, all over some speculation. Although I had immense respect for John McCain not making it an issue during the election.

If it weren't for the fact that he's only 5'7", balding and not in the back pocket of the religious right then Mitch Daniels would be the perfect candidate for President.

The mob is fickle and tend to stay away from candidates who don't fit the prototypical presidential physical profile. But if we're going off of their records alone, Mitch holds his own against any other candidate.

Umm Have you seen our President?

I don't know who it will be-I just hope he beats the pants out of Obama.

Yes, I have. He is slightly taller than the average height, fit, young looking, well spoken and projects power. Yes, he is also of mixed race but lets not pretend he is selling an image in addition to his political opinions. Mitch Daniels doesn't possess many of those intangibles and that will hurt him in the eyes of the mob.
