Hey, guys!I am from Russia, but currently live in the US. Please tell me how bad it is.I get all information from the news and do not know much. My family is from Voronezh and I read it was the terrible fire few days ago over there. My family is out of Voronezh now on vacation, so I do not know much. Please, tell me how bad it is and how much forest is destroyed.Thank you!!!
P.S. I wrote in English because I see that everybody writes in English over here.
These photos and videos of the Russian fires are so terrifying and heartbreaking I could only bring myself to watch one of them. Russia simply has no infrastructure to deal with wild fires of this unprecedented magnitude.
In a heavily forested country where most structures are built of wood, Patriarch Kirill may be right about the best possible hope: pray to god for rain.

I disagree! We (russians) have a good phrase - "In God belive but do something yourself". All known the summer will be rainless. And so? Has anybody from official prepared for it?

The American version of this phrase is "God helps those who help themselves"
Wags (comedians) then add, "I'll help myself to another piece" - usually a piece of pie or cake or some other dessert.
