Stockholm is fine for clubbing, but expensive.
Berlin is diverse and affordable
Paris has bars, clubs, good food, but expensive
I've tried out some European cities on citytrips. Every bigger city offers you a lot. I'm not sure about the curfew in bars and clubs in the UK and Ireland. Does it still exist? When I was in Dublin, everything closed at 2am. One club at 3am...
In other countries, you can go on until breakfast time.
I live near Frankfurt and i would say there is a big selection of clubs and bars, cheap and expensive, different music styles...
You can go clubbing until breakfast time, too.
But a Whisky Coke in the Redlight District could cost u a fortune :-) :-)
I have visited over 20 European countries and the best nightlife in all of them is Belgrade. You cannot go wrong there is a lot of bars, clubs, hot women. If you were to go somewhere in Kiev, Moscow the parties suck because they are filled with plastics. And plastics are not the people you want to be hanging out with.
Amsterdam has a lot of late night lounges and bars, but they're generally either smoke bars (coffeeshops) or for the trendy set. If you are the kind of person who always looks like they belong then that's probably your scene.

Barcelona. It's all night 24/7.
Never been to Madrid but I'm guessing it's the same there.
Prague is pretty cool now also after they have decriminalized all drugs.
