Here in the U.S., the center of population is currently in southern Missouri. That is - if you could "weigh" the U.S. population, it would balance perfectly at this location.

That is probably about the case if you count western Europe only. For all Europe it must be somewhere around Prague (which is at the same latitude as Luxemburg, but farther east), and maybe around Nuremberg if we count only the EU. Not surprisingly that area is called "central Europe".
i dont think there really is one , at least not a recognised area if i was to pick one myself , id say some part of western germany but thats just a random pick

Yes, this is what geographers have once called "the blue banana" or the European megalopolis. It is a sort of backbone / spine that is made of the densier areas of western Europe. But it is not necessary the "center of gravity" of European population since much of Europe areas are further east of it.

I haven't seen a calculation anywhere, but based on french user's maps, I'd guess somewhere around Munich.
To those not used to the concept -- the center of population can very well be in a rural area, as exemplified by the US.
edit -- I made some rather pedestrian calculations in Excel and the median center of population would be somewhere between Nuremberg (GER) and Plzen (CZE). I included Russia west of the Urals, so if only the EU was considered that center would shift west quite a bit, and south as well. Maybe Stuttgart or Ulm?

I've once done myself a similar quick calculation/estimation; it was somewhere in Czech republic. So if you arrive also to the same conclusions we must be not that far from the reality.

It is not the geographical center of Europe we speak about, but the center of population weight. That different. The geographical center of Europe will be aroun Poland of maybe even Bielorussia if we count on land territory. But since Russia is relatively empty (especially in the far north and near Ural) in comparision with western and central Europe
