What about Y.Timoshenko? Would she be able to compete with Yanukovich after she will be released from prison?

Now the Parliament is thinking about it. In fact, Yanukovych's team would like to get a situation where Tymoshenko couldn't take part in elections. But parliamentary opposition also don't want it because they have their own plans on the elections. As soon as Tymoshenko will be able to leave out the hospital and get Germany that all of her illness will be ending . After that many things will depend on the position of the EC.
Today Vitali Klitschko made his announcement about his part in the presidential election. First of three.

I am curious, what percentage (roughly) of the Ukrainians would vote for Tymoshenko in case of her participation in the presidential elections? Is there any real chance she could be next president of Ukrain?

1) I think she could take about 30 percent. But if she would be given a normal period for preparation.
2) I am sure, she won't.

It will be really interesting, what she will do. I think Tymoshenko is more clever and cunning person than Yuschenko was.

Many people in Ukraine and I don't want to hear about her perspective in political life. Ukraine needs to have lots of "builders" instead the intrigante such as Tymoshenko.

Give we shall not forget, that the considerable percent of Yanukovich electors is the people sick of communism and faith in a messianic role of Russia, without which Ukraine will be lost under influence of the EU. These peoples will prefer communists or russian nationalists in the first round of elections, and in the second round will not come on elections at all. On the other hand the democratic opposition has not found the strong uniform candidate for a counterbalance of Yanukovich (more precisely not personally to Yanyk, and his a "team of stability").

And you are right, Tymoshenko is "busted pilot", her rating is not small and stable, but chances for a victory are not present.

What is a communism? It never exsisted. And what is a messianic role of Russia? Well, maybe 10 or 100 persons really believe in it. But it is a fact that there is no language barier between two nations, that they are connected, and that the majority of people in Central and East Ukraine was typical Soviet citizens, not dissenters, and that one of the reasons for our "divorce" in 1991 was the desire of Yeltsin and Kravchuk (both were communists in the past) to politically "kill" poor Gorby.

And while Timoshenko is a cunning person, I am afraid that she is cunning only in her intrigues.

You have answered your question.
And 10 from 100 it is 10% of a rating, and a rating of Yanukovich just at level of 40-50%, and voices coomunists and pro-russian voters can be solving.

You're totally right!
But the idea to arrest Mr. Markov of Odessa who is an opponent to integration with EU is not constructive as well. Only "non-builder" could order to arrest him. In fact, it is illegal to arrest someone for his political beliefs. Mr. Markov should be released immediately.
