Spaniards don't worship N. Europeans (Britons, Irish, Dutch, etc.) in real life. This is a forum exclusive. Few Spanish forum members do this. They're insecure, self-hating, and very ignorant about their own heritage/history. They like to think they're the 'whitest' S. Europeans looking mostly 'British/Irish'. And their country 'isn't Mediterranean'. I have to laugh at them .
Spaniards are completely different from Britons and other N. Europeans. Spaniards are S. Europeans and look no different from Portuguese, Italians, and Greeks. The only ways to distinguish these 4 groups is to ask or hear them speak. Virtually all Spaniards in real life embrace their Mediterranean heritage. They are a privileged part of the Greco-Roman civilization. They wouldn't align themselves with N. Euros, whom have minimal cultural achievements. Barcelona is the Capital of the Mediterranean (Barcelona capital del Mediterráneo). Spanish film director Paco Plaza (during an interview for Rec 3) grinned and said that Spain is very Mediterranean.

But so are most North Africans, West Asians and Arabians.
Iberians would be most closer to South Europeans (such as Sicilians/Maltese, Greeks/Cypriots and Western Turks), Latin Americans, North Africans (Maghrebi people), West Asians (Levantines, Mesopotamians and Persians), Arabians, even some South Asians (Afghans, Pakistanis and Northwest Indians) and Gypsies.
Can you demonstrate that by posting pictures showing large groups of people of every country?

All Europeans, like all other humans are originary from Africa at one point.
PS: 'europeans' do not equal 'northern Europeans'. Europeans, like the rest of humanity are part of a physical continuum. There is not a 'European race' that would suddenly stop where Europe is supposed to end... All is continuum.
Iberians are the epitome of European like Italian people. They are completely European. If they have non-European ancestry then so does every other European ancestry. All Europeans are more related to each other than non-Europeans and we all have origins from outside Europe.

You do not need to over assert their Europeaness.
Iberians are still different from Italians.
Sorry but not in my or other Europeans book, Iberians are not the epitome due to their stronger Mediterranean with some extra Mediterranean/North African genes and this is not news either.
Iberians like Sicilians, Maltese, Greeks, Cypriots and Turks have higher amounts of non-European blood than just European origins.

Not really necessarily at all.
R1b or not, all Caucasians whether from The UK/Ireland, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, South America, North Africa, the Near East, West Asia or Central-South Asia are still closely related.
It just that some Europeans can still drift from others.
