Russia offered NK civilian power plant to revive nuclear deal with US

https://www.smh.com.au/world/north-a...30-p50ufz.html

If you read the whole body of the article, there's a general negative tone by the West to the offer. Anything that Russia does to resolve conflicts is seen as opportunistic and an attempt to expand its sphere of influence. There was never any need to ratchet up the issue. NK is not going anywhere, and it's highly questionable that they have a viable nuclear missile threat. The US has been hyping the threat since the late 80's.

The US MIC is never going to make peace with NK. The only way for that to happen is most likely for war to change something. America is fighting it's coming irrelevance and has a lot to lose. The only real influence we have left is that instlled by fear of a club.

that's just sad as hell.

I would love to know where he gets his "disintegration" fantasies...maybe he listens to too many Porky speeches ehehehe

If anything, I see few countries with a potential future brighter than Russia if they do not screw things up...and so far Putin, love him or hate him, he did not screw up that much.
He needs to work much more on corruption, speed up infrastrucure investment and complete the build up of the political nomenklatura needed to protect Russian geopolitical interests, no matter who is in power...this is and has always been the real Putin objective, a Russian deep state with permanent interests and not permanent allies a la US (and the British Empire before it).

Russia in brief

- Completely resource and energy independent. Negligible external debt, highest gold reserves in the world vs. GDP, on its way to complete a totally independent international payment system.

- Demographic decline completely reversed and rapidly increasing immigration.

- Rapidly growth in advanced production....according to the manufacturer, the MC-21 airliner by 2025 will be 97% internally sourced....

- Working on a ultra heavy orbital launch vector, potentially it could be the first country to get there.

- Strategic alliances in Asia and its strategic partnership with China (economic, military, scientific).

- Power projection capability rapidly advancing, enough to fulfill Russia geopolitical goals. Strong enough to keep at bay any US neocon fantasies which would quickly turn suicidal (they are not that dumb). The US and the West is finally realizing the futility and potential dangerous outcome of messing up with Russia...the sanction regime is already winding down and the attitude towards Ukraine is pretty much "Shut up and take it, sorry we screwed you, too bad".

The US, Russia and China are the only 3 real independent countries with independent foreign policies on this planet, that's it...India is a potential fourth......the rest are either vassals or too small to count.

....yep a country on its way to "disintegration"....ahahahahaah!!!!

Its a cool video and catchy song! Some of those shown medal winners in Sochi were stripped of their medals for doping. But they clearly put a lot of resources into the video and selected appropriate clips for the lyrics. I enjoyed it.

Power projection? LOL how about preventing Macedonia from joining NATO next month? According to Dušan Reljić, head of the Brussels Office of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), Russia has no genuine clout in southeast Europe now.

“It has been prevented from projecting military influence to the whole of southeast Europe since the first decade of this century, when a chain of NATO state was created – from the Baltic to the Black Sea.”

“So Russian diplomats regularly publish press statements criticizing Western actions in the region, but this is as far as Moscow can go. There are no means at Moscow’s disposal to influence decisively the situation on the ground,” he added.

Well hey they have their copy of the 737 almost ready! Its only been delayed 8 years. Bright future! )))

I've been hearing about the disintegration of Russia since the 1990s. They have gone nowhere but up and will continue to do so. The Silk Road Initiative is going to benefit them too, those vast resources will be accessible much more easily with the rail system going north to Russia. Distance from the source to the place the raw materials are needed is a huge factor in industry. The rail system is going to make it economical to get those resources to market.

The only problem I see is that Russia needs to work on environmental protections for the future generations of Russians sake.

Nice edit there. I can count the number of interplanetary missions Russia has performed in the past 30 years on zero hands. "Working on", that's always their story isn't it?

Math not your strong suit eh? Not that I expect it... Maybe next year enough Uzbeks will offset the continuing decline.
