Police identified the man and issued a international arrest warrant. He's neither a refugee nor a Muslim, just a regular thug.

True, from what is known yet, he is from Bulgaria, probably Roma. He was already criminal in his home country. The question still is what did he do in Germany and why wasn't he arrested earlier. Unfortunately, muslims or refugees are not Germany's only problem.

There are tons of people from Eastern Europe that are exploiting social systems as well. There are even tour operators, who support people in travelling to Germany, filling out all necessary documents, prepare fake employment contracts and then register them to fake addresses where like 80 people are registered in a normal size apartment, just to get all our tax money.

It turned out it was a Bulgarian gypsy.

Bulgaria is an EU member, its citizens can move freely within the EU.

Not entirely true. The right to reside in another EU member state for more than three months is subject to certain conditions like employment.

Up to now, next to nothing is known about that guy besides his first name, his nationality and that he was living on and off in a Roma settlement. According to Bild, he and his wife were working in a restaurant in Berlin.

I hope that they catch him soon and that he gets the trial he deserves.

They can move freely within the EU, but they cannot just come to Germany to receive welfare transfers, if they are not eligible or only faking their eligibility status.

Most people think that such offences are today more common than in the past. That's a good example how dumb the majority of the population is.

Cases of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter:

1995: 2,753
2014: 1,515

Cases of murder and attempted murder:

1995: 1,207
2014: 649
I don't know the statistics, so I can't argue there, however this whole issue of the big presence of the Middle Easterners ( i.e. Muslims) in Germany ( or France for this matter) is very unsettling for me - sorry.

In a way I am glad to hear about it - that it was just some random cretin.

Less Muslims in France and Germany than in Russia.

The Muslims of "Russian brand" do not worry me too much. Except for Chechens of course, who are very reminiscent of the Middle Easterners.

A big chunk of European Muslims are Bosniaks, Albanians, Turks, Kurds, Indians, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and so on. Very few are your stereotypical "bearded man with an AK-47 on a Ford Pickup".
