BBC reporting that new fissures have opened up, and it's not yet clear what route the lava from these will take. Lava from the original fissures has reached the sea.
Too bad situation for the island the the people who lost their homes, schools and the whole villages. It's almost one month since the ruption and ti seems that the volano doesn't want to stop.
Let's see what happens next.
I have been watching the volcano for a few hours a day. So many homes have been destroyed. I was wondering how many years it will take for them to recover from all of this. I saw the videos about the stranded dogs. They are so skinny. Too hot for anyone to go in and save them.

They've been trying to feed the dogs, it sounds like they don't want to eat.
They're going to try to rescue the dogs by trying to catch them using a net attached to a drone. Whether they'll be successful or not depends on the dogs and if they'll be easy to catch. They only have so much time before the drone battery runs out.
A Spanish drone operator on Tuesday received permission to try to rescue three emaciated dogs trapped near a volcano in the Canary Islands, by catching them with a remote-controlled net and flying them out over a stream of lava.
Jaime Pereira, CEO of drone operator Aerocamaras, said he plans to send a 50-kilogram (110-pound) drone equipped with a wide net to try to trap the dogs, one by one, and fly them to safety, 450 meters (1,476 feet) away over flowing lava.
"It's the first time an animal is being rescued with a drone and the first time it has to be captured," Pereira told Reuters. "If that's the last option that the dogs have? Then we're going after them."
The operator will have just four minutes to lure a dog to the net, and another four minutes to fly it out.
"What we don't want is to run out of battery when flying over the lava," Pereira said.
Been watching this on and off for the last couple of months. I know someone in the Canary Islands. They haven't responded yet, but I'm sure they are okay.
What has grabbed my interest is the earthquakes. I have looked at earthquakes on maps, in a past job that I lost thanks to lock downs, and the volume of earthquakes, how long this has been going on, the prediction that if part of it breaks off, it could sent a mega tsunami...it definitely has my attention.
I take it both with a little bit of, 'yeah, just like an asteroid, or Yellowstone could blow', who knows if we'll ever see those happen in our lifetime, and 'man, if that did happen...maybe just make some tentative plans, just in case."
I can't believe more people are not talking about this.
If that part breaks off, and there is indeed a mega tsunami, so many people won't have a clue until it's too late to do anything.
All I would do is grab my pets, my laptop, and drive west. According to the map, where I live would just barely be missed, but why stick around.
