BERN, Switzerland (AP) -- A woman beheaded after she was accused of causing a girl to spit pins and convulse was exonerated Wednesday, more than 200 years after she became the last person executed as a witch in Europe.
i wish the article stated reasons as to why the backwards people, of the time, thought she was a witch. Did she dress in all black? Dance in the woods at night under each and every full moon? Chant to herself in the view of others? It would of been a better article if they described why the townspeople thought she was a witch. still a good read though, thanks.
Not that there's anything wrong with that..being a witch I mean.
Sure glad I live in more "enlightened" times, no really, I've been to Salem and the museum..those poor people. (the witches who were persecuted, I mean!)
I'd be more interested in any type of punishment or reparations from the Churches behind these mass murders over the centuries.
