Hi, I wouldn't even try to run a half mile uphill. Maybe on a flat surface but sure not on a hill.

News, Man, 87, Finishes Steep Uphill Race.

I can only run uphill if something large and scary is chasing me.

I can do it running downhill, on a cool, breezy and overcast day while stopping for water breaks.

I am currently training for my first half marathon ( this Nov ) and running hills always, always kills me, to run 7.6 miles of a hill, someone would have to be dragging me probably at least the last couple of miles or better yet I probably would be on my hands and knees lol. My longest runt to date is just over 8 and I would say only 2 miles of that was hill work. That is very impressive for anyone at any age, but at 87 that is even more so.

Check out Mt Marathon race in Seward Alaska, not 7.6 miles but would bet its steeper than the 7.6 mile run

Not a chance... I have bad knees, and can't even walk uphill without things popping & sliding around - OUCH! Of course, I live in San Francisco, so I have no choice but to deal with hills. But RUNNING up for 7.6 miles?? That's impressive at any age!!
