You need both: diet/nutrition for weight control, energy & wellness & exercise for toning and muscle definition.

Ya gotta have both, bro. Think of your body as a high-performance race car. And all the exercise you do to tone-up and get in shape is like the car mechanics, turning wrenches and tweaking the carbuerator and the fuel-injections system and all that stuff.
Race cats use high-octane gas, like 110 I think. So, if your put crappy gas--like the stuff we use in our cars--say, a measly 87 octance, that high-performance race car, no matter how sweetly it's tuned, ain't gonna run as well as it should.
Well, the fuel in the car is your diet. So you have to eat clean whenever engaging in an exercise regimen if oyu want to reap full benefits. Also, better nutrition willgive you more stamina, thus allowing you to work-out at a higher lever, which, in turn, gets you in even better shape. It's all part of a special mix.

Both. There are some who contend that you can eat whatever you want if you exercise regularly, but that's not true for everyone. Overall, you're able to get the most out of your workouts if you don't fuel your body with crap. ,

In fact you'd probably look better if you were to exercise whenever you wanted but regularly ate a healthful diet. On the controlled carb plan I'm following they strongly recommend a mix of cardio and strength exercise to go with the better way of eating.

I think that a healthy diet works best.

I agree that you need to do both, but I feel diet is more important. You can kill yourself in the gym all day, but if you're eating pizza, burgers and beer, you won't make much of a dent.

With diet alone you can look lean and average. Add exercise to the mix and you can look athletic.

Deit without a doubt. I could exercise 30 minutes a day and add a lot of muscle and other health benefits.

But if you want to get lean and achieve top health you really need a good diet.

I could EAT 30 minutes of intense exercise in about 2 minutes.
