It's going to far. A lot of these women are CLEARLY, fat. Does calling yourself "thick" make you feel better about yourself?
For the record, I'm not taking a shot at fat women. I have no issues at all but being in denial about your health is not good.

My husband uses the word thick to distinguish women with extra who carry it well. Hopefulness on their part that they carry it well, perhaps?

No different than men calling themselves "husky" I guess.
To me "thick" isn't as fat as "fat" as a descriptor. And it's better than "fluffy"
which was in vogue about a decade ago. Similarly "big" to me = fat.

I think of "thick" as describing a woman like Serena Williams. She's not fat, obviously, but she's not a little wisp of a thing.

Nope, no shot at all.
What possible difference does it make in YOUR life what other people want to call themselves?
As Ohiogirl said: do we really need yet another thread bashing fat women?

That's what I think of too. Solid. Muscular.
I like it.
