if you don't wear flip-flops......well.

btw, it's not unusual to pick up MRSA from unsanitary gym equipment as well....

His own fault! He didn't use common sense!
Who is walking barefoot into a public shower? Who is walking barefoot on public carpets, or surfaces other than sand on the beach? (even that could be dangerous!)
Use socks, flip-flops, bath slippers, or at very least put a bath towel on the shower floor...

I have always worked out at home with videos and now DVDs, have my own sets of dumbbells. Used to have more equipment but simplified my life. Cheap, can do it whenever I feel like, don't have to deal with people or wait for machines, can work out naked. No excuses!

I walk barefoot into the showers at the gym without any incident. I make sure to dry off my feet first and put my socks on before putting my underwear.

I believe there is more to this story. The article stated, "He continued his marathon training and chose at-home and the over-the-counter remedies to treat the warts." I feel like this guy had an open cut or sore on his feet due to the marathon running and this got infected when he took a shower at the gym. He should have refrain from physical activity until the sore/cut healed. Also, he decided to cure the warts himself by OTC medication. He should have gone to the doctor's after the warts appeared on his foot.

If you go barefooted, you'd be best to spray a heay dose of antifungal spray afterwards.....

Really not topic at hand, but I agree, you can do a lot at home. I seem to have more motivation with others in agony along side in a gym......
