Some one mentioned holidays gorging. I no longer do big holidays, do hardly any. But if one counted from start to finish with all the turkey holiday foods and drink, one can consume 18,000 calories.

Again some people. Perception is reality for these people. Of course in some cases that is not the case.

I do have empathy for situations. I don't condone excuses. I don't know anyone who works 24 hrs a day. Sourcing chicken parts and frozen broccoli isn't that hard. Most markets offer delivery service. One could ask family and friends to come along when they go grocery shopping and offer to provide gas money.

There is always something someone can do to help their situation. Do you believe it's better for people to believe they are powerless?

Not having time to cook is just another excuse. Heck, you can still eat at McDonald's everyday and not be fat. It just depends on the food choices you make, even at McDonald's.

And even for people with busy lives. Online food deliveries are getting more popular by the day.
Thats how i get my fruit and veges. I have a basket turn up once a week.

Some anti cancer drugs, anti psychotics, and anti depressants will cause weight gain but its so much easier to blame it on laziness or overeating.

Of course if you don't have access to a grocery store, it's going to be hard.
But look at the numbers
  • 25 million Americans don't have access to a proper grocery store
  • 70% of Americans are overweight or obese
  • That's 226 Million people who are overweight/obese

So we've accounted for the 25 million who don't have access to a proper grocery store (assuming they are all overweight which probably isn't the case)

What about the other 200 million?

I knew it was high but not that high!

Is that guaranteed, unavoidable weight gain of over 50 lbs? Or can the weight gain be avoided by lifestyle changes to offset the effects of the medication?
