I do pay "special attention" when asked about things like lifting belts. I'm sure there is one person out there who wears a helmet when squatting, that doesn't mean we should tell someone to wear a helmet during squats either because one person does it. As the research indicates a lifting belt is not needed and actually hinders your core strength unless you're pushing extreme amounts of weight and as we can all intelligently deduce, OP isn't anywhere near that level.
