I agree with what that news story said. I moved from California to North Dakota and I immediately noticed a lot of fat bodies in this state. I mean just about everyone is fat. And I exercise regularly and I’m the only one out there running or mountain biking. The majority of natives do nothing. Now closer the the city where there is a college, the kids are in their 20’s are doing physical activities. But out in the farming community where I live, they do nothing. And you can see it with pot bellies and fat asses.

California is one of the states with the healthiest eating habits and 25% are still obese! We are unfit in the US and too many do not exercise.

Texas is 14th on obesity and 5th on the lack of exercise.

I live in a central city neighborhood in Dallas, TX. In the central city neighborhoods in Dallas, image is everything and fitness is a big deal. The central city Dallas neighborhoods are where most of the unmarried people are. Therefore, you have been who are in more transient relationships and who are unattached and looking to mate. These people are more motivated to keep fit.

I was at a concert venue last night FL) and I swear 3 out of ever 4 adults were fat, fat, fat...many smoking, eating like hogs at a trough. And my state is 35th.....I can only imagine what WV folks look like.

Looking by state is interesting but also looking by county might be interesting. I am going to assume rural counties are more obese than urban. Although logically that doesn’t make sense. Being in a rural area, I would assume more people perform labor manual. Also just the vast amount of nearby outdoor activities. Plus a higher chance of having a more traditional family(maybe that means more home cooked meals.
