yea i love mine, it talks to you and tells you how far you've gone, when you're half way etc... and then it tracks all the miles you've gone on your comp.

While it's nice to have, unless you need to test like for the military or plan on running a marathon, what good does it do? On the otherhand, if you need new sneakers anyway...

I LOVE my Nike plus Ipod. LOVE IT!! Almost all of my runs are either on a trail, beach or through the neighborhood and I am constantly pushing myself to go longer and faster so the Nike Plus works great in keeping track of my distance, time, pace, etc.

After my run, I just plug it into my computer and I can compare the run to my previous runs. Its genius.

Default issues... but I still love it!

As for the Nike + Ipod... there are some restirictions. You don't have to use Nike shoes, you can put it in a pouch and tie it to your shoe laces... that's what I do. Also it only works with certain ipods. But the biggest problem is that it overestimates the distance gone and the pace by 10%. I've calibrated mine several times and it hasn't changed. So I just have to know what it tells me I'm running at an 8:30 minute mile pace, that's actually closer to 9:30 mile pace. And when it says I've run 2.2 miles, I've really run 2! I've tested it on treadmills and actual tracks, it is consitently off by 10%. That being said, I still love mine and use it 5-6 times a week! It's great to know how far you've gone and for it to keep track of your pace for you, even if its off! I'm training for time on a 1.5 mile and it's still good b/c I can get my time when I hit 1.65 on the ipod. I don't know if it would be better if I had Nike shoes, maybe it would reduce some of the extra wiggle that causes that 10% offage. But I've heard others that put it in the shoe say the same thing...
