They are using what is termed an "electric transmission". Engine-> generator-> electric drive motors. This eliminates the power sapping, complex, bulky, weighty, mechanical transmission.

And it's luxurious too! Such a beautiful car but it looks like a Lamborsche instead of a pure Lambo
