I had a passenger a couple years ago, that had no DUI's. An older gent that assured me he could get through no problem. I brought him along as a co-driver. On the return trip I pulled in to get my passport stamped. He decided he wanted his done also. Turns out he had a drug bust charge from back in the 60's...of which he was cleared, but it still came up on his record. After 3 hours and me threatning to leave him there with Customs...they let him pass.

It is a roll of the dice. If you take the chance have a back up plan...

I have been questioned for a few minutes and have background checks run and other times for all intents and purposes waived on through...

It would be so much easier to sneak to the US from Mexico! Then come into CA, get a driver's license and use it at the ballot box

We're both from Michigan, where it was no big deal to just go to Canada for the day, do lunch, go to Bob-Lo Island, whatever. Now you need a passport and you get hassled all the time...

Well, I won't be taking any chances. If I go, I'll have a timeline to get there, and that isn't designed to turn around and drive back to Michigan from the border and back.

If I could afford to buy a car when I got there, I'd just fly myself.
