Anyone else has to wear a uniform to work? (color, girl, fashion)

Well, that does it. Today I found out that our department will start to wear uniforms to work, 5 days a week, no exception, no casual days. I'm crushed. For many years I've worked in fashion and I express myself through clothes. Having to look like everyone else 5 days a week is killing me now. The uniform is a woven burgundy color button-down shirt and black bottoms (any black bottoms, skirts, shorts, pants, as long as it's not too revealing). And no heels over 2 inches high. I guess I will just have to accessorize...but still.

And here I was letting my imagination run wild with visions of MM in a catholic school girl uniform, naughty pig-tails and all. Ok, I'll behave. Honestly MM, I think you'd look good in a burlap sack...ok, that may not have come out right, but you get what I mean.
I've been wearing a uniform for the past 19 years. The upside is that you don't have to figure out what to wear each day (like Einstein who bought several of the same suit), but I will be happy when I can actually start wearing my own clothes to work some day.
I do a little of both. Since I'm technically in between two departments, one of which wears uniforms and the other does not, I get to choose. Sometimes it's a black dickies and polo shirt day, others I'll wear nice dress pants and a blouse.
When I work in my dad's shop it's ALWAYS a uniform because there is no way I'm getting grease and oil all over my good clothes.
I would kill to be able to wear a uniform again. I miss it. I usually stand in my closet for an hour each morning trying to find something I don't hate to wear.
Buy a new set of really bright, funky underwear so at least you'll have a little something exciting going on underneath your uniform that only you will know about. Hopefully, that'll break up the monotony a little bit.

Any good story needs pictures.
I wore a uniform for 30+ years. It's more difficult to
express your personality, but it can be done. Saves
money on clothes, use it for better shoes.

Thanks Cool...you always know the right thing to say to brighten the situation.
I know I will work this outfit, I just like to dress-up. Oh well, I'll just have weekends for that.

Ha ha!! Good idea. It will only be me knowing that I'm wearing my pink ones with a "naughty girl" printed on my ass.
