Either talk to different or a wider range of more mature men.

Nothing like a real estate agent giving advice. I stand by my convictions and thoughts. I know there is alot of fake and plastic in Dallas, so you may be biased by your surroundings. Makeup is a waste on women, if it makes them feel better about themselves thats one thing, but if they are caking it on to attract men they are probably attracting the wrong type of man. As for the porn thread Id like to see where you got your 2% stat. I feel that the number is probably higher than that for women who see it is cheating do to the deep level of betrayal they may feel. To each their own. I believe the more shrewd women see it for what it is.. a deterant against cheating. I believe many men would cheat on their spouses if not for porno.

Interesting how so many men say they prefer their woman eau naturale, yet, when a woman who's anything but crosses his path, she eclipses miss eau naturale. Pass the spackle.

Makeup is at it's best when it doesn't look like makeup at all. Most men are easily taken in by what looks "natural".

I'm qualified to give advice about women because I know women not because of my profession or where I live.

Your posts speak loudly that you don't know women. Most importantly when You say "Most men I speak to" and not "I believe that women" then you are relying on others to form your opinions. If your going to rely on "Most guys" to get your knowledge then interview a wider range of mature men.

If you really want to know why most women wear makeup ask most women. Personally I don't know many mature women who cake on makeup just to attract the wrong type of man.

Personally, I prefer a little makeup to even out my skin and give me a bit of color on my cheeks. I simply think I look better.

LOL it could be that the women with makeup was just more attractive so that study is valueless really.

Good point. Actually I think most women do what they do for other women, not for men. I don't mean to attract other women, but to "keep up." I remember when I was a kid and went to girl scout camp and the girls brought their cutest outfits and all their makeup and would parade around to impress each other. We knew, even at that age, that boys would go for us no matter what we had on and we also knew that the other girls would appreciate the finer distinctions in fashionable dress.

That said, I know that men find me more attractive when I have at least some eye makeup on, and they're more attracted yet when I get some foundation on to cover my red complexion--but I've never been a big fan of the Tammy Faye look. Like everything else in life, you've got to do it right.

Exactly. It's easy to assume that women wear makeup or dress a certain way to impress men. But quite often, they're more concerned with how they compare to other women. Think about those red carpet events where women stand and pose for the cameras. If two women have identical outfits on, it's considered a big deal and a source of embarrassment for both women. But if two men have identical suits on and similar looking ties, no one cares. I think women are more concerned with appearing distinctive. I know plenty of women who look terrific without makeup. But they may feel like they look plain. How many women do you know that want to go out into the world looking plain?

As a guy, I prefer a woman who doesn't wear a lot of makeup. If it looks like she's wearing a lot, that just makes me wonder what she's hiding. Sarah Palin is someone who gets a lot of attention because of her looks. But if you see her during her closeups on TV, you can tell she wears a lot of makeup and she's had the same hairstyle for years. I doubt people would recognize the real Palin.
