Ok, so there has been some confusion about what I am talking about, different materials, etc.
I call spandex anything that is skin tight. WOrkout gear, or whatever, if I can see butt cheeks bouncing, it's spandex to me.

Ha. Any good trainer will tell you to wear form fitting clothes so that you can see yourself/your body while working out. People will look then go right back to what they are there for - TO WORK OUT.

I don't care what fat chicks wear, because I'm not looking at them. While there are some big girls who wear spandex where I live, most have nice bodies. The fat girls wear sweats.
