Good luck on your move and school. I'm sure you will have no trouble finding a great coat, and lots of other great clothes in NYC, check out the vintage shops, so many unique stylish items that won't break the bank. I imagine there will come a point when that money will come in handy. When I went to graduate school I always seemed to need more money than I thought I would, I had a little back up from my grandma passing too, it was nice to have it in the bank when I really needed it, and I know she was looking on somewhere happy to be able to help me through school.
