I say yes!!

Longer skirts are so much more elegant. Personally I do not own any shorter than knee length. I find them to have a much more polished overall look and also look adequate with different kinds of shoes.

I detest the "look at me, I am so hot" thing.
Everyone notices people who are trying too hard, whether they have the kind of body to pull it off or not.

Elegance always rules.

Mind you, I'm nearly 40, so I'm glad I can now try to look chic without revealing the cellulite.

My body shape is basically 'pear,' and hems just a little below the knee, seem like the most flattering. Maxi skirts, not so much.

What do you think of this trend? Is it a yay or a nay?
Nay.

You basically said it yourself: long skirts are for women who don't have the legs or the bod to pull-off wearing a short skirt.
Hey--I'm a guy. A Type A raging=hormone-perpetually-adolescent guy. Who digs women with long, toned, smooth, tanned legs in short skirts and flimsy summer dresses. Lucky for me, my wife has all that and also has a great selection of short skirts and dresses. (My favorite is this silk black spaghetti strap dinner dress thingie she sometimes wear when she does concerts.) Schwiing!
But I digress. Anyway, pencil me in for one big fat NAY in your poll!

So you'd rather see a woman in a short skirt whose body type doesn't work with said short skirt?

As a straight guy, I agree. Sorry, I find these threads absolutely fascinating

Anyhow, longer length skirts seem to add more to the mystery in my opinion. Yes, a women in a mini skirt is nice but there is just no mystery to it. If that makes any sense.

Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.

I don't really wanna see a woman's body at all if she can't pull-off the short skirt thing.

But, hey, dat's just me--I reckon I've been spoiled in my life so far as being around gorgeous and scantily-clad women is concerned.

Yes. A lot of the longer lengths look more graceful and/or tailored. The minis sometimes look just too casual, a bit like wearing shorts.

It's not just about maxi-length, it's about knee-length skirts as well.

I think they impart a much more polished and elegant look almost every time.
