we do have bright plummage, but it has had muddy feed wiped on it so much it now appears dull and unattractive. 1/2 of this is in the abusers and their lawyers, the other 1/2 is our own darn fault. dont say i do, say i dont.

Maybe so....but you lost me with the makeup, high heels and wigs. In the cultures I'm thinking of, the men did dance and liked their jewelry and clothes, but anything that would be "feminine" even now was eschewed by the males.

That's just it, it wasn't effeminate then. Just the opposite as a matter of fact. Weird, I know.
Maybe it matter of culture or subculture that varies from country to country. In pop culture Asia(particulary South Korea and Japan), men fashion is a bit more colorful and out there than here.
And speaking of non human animals, I find it a little amusing now that male lions have long ''hair'', while the females are bald, though there is a logical explanation behind that.

The species would be extinct if she didn't feed his lazy arse.
We've already fed the monster, so we can't do much about it. Young women will continue to grow up and see all of this crap, and what seems to be naturally getting low self esteem if they don't have it. It has almost come to the point where I discriminate against women with too many accessories. We need more natural women.
Funny how guys will say that and yet when you go out with your friends, the ones that wear the said accessories will 9 times out of 10 get more attention.
In the 1600 and 1700's men used just as much makeup, wore high heels, wigs, and fancy clothes. In general it's just a trend.
That was then...now men don't have to go through all that trouble...all they have to do to strut is, wear neck ties, tacitly directing the subconscious to the point, if you catch the drift.
