A lot of us dont like being forced to accept something just because others have. We are adults here so lets start acting like it. You dont like certain things and i dont like certain things. Get over it.

"Liking" or "disliking" something doesn't have to turn it into a moral issue. Nobody is forcing anything on you. There's no law saying you have to be in an inter-racial relationship. I dislike liver but don't find it morally objectionable when I see it at the supermarket. Perhaps you need to "get over" thinking of it as a moral issue, which the rest of the nation has since the 60s, and just treat it as your personal preference.

Just for the record, I don't find short shorts on men immoral.

Problem is, clothes, especially shorts, are activity-specific. Very short, as in Bob Cousy era basketball, is strictly for athletic activities. Why would any man with an ounce of dignity be wearing them while out and about in town? Speed-os, well that's a whole other thing. I'm not a fan but when worn on the beach or at the pool, they are activity-appropriate. Longer cargo shorts are okay in the hot summer for wear in town or while shopping or attending picnics, ball games, etc.
But people seem to think that decorum is passe'.
Personally, nothing looks cooler than a guy in clean chinos or jeans, a white t-shirt - tucked in - and polished loafers. Yum.

Oh, and women in spandex - of any age or weight - anywhere but in the gym? Tacky.

I might do a white cotton long sleeve collared shirt but tucked in t-shirt with loafers seems a bit too West Side Story to me.

could also be what the guy is going out FOR. I mean, if its 90+ degrees out, high humidity, and im going to walmart to pick up a couple things, going to the drive thru to get a bite to eat, then going to the park or someplace to enjoy the outdoors then im not going to wear "clean chinos or jeans, a white t-shirt - tucked in - and polished loafers". Im going to wear shorts. the shorter the better plus a light colored shirt, and whatever sneakers i have.

Yeah its always the same people posting pics like that. Always taking things to extremes like "oh anyone that wants to wear shorts above the knee is obviously a flaming homo wanting them to ride up his butt with a big grin on his face".
