I just recently heard that vaseline is good for preventing fine lines and crows feet if used nightly. I alwso hear its bad because it clogs pores and doesnt let the skin breathe. Anyone here ever use vaseline on their face? What were the effects?

Have only used Vaseline on my chapped, dry lips, but it's not the best. (No staying power) But I heard an image consultant once recommend coconut oil for the same purposes! (She said it's what she used herself! She was in her 70's and didn't even look close to that!)

Maybe thats why boxers all have such smooth pretty skin. All those years of boxing with vaseline all over their faces.

Bad. And you are right. Its bad for pores.

Another reason I came across today:
"Nasal congestion or dryness
If particles of petrolatum are inhaled from the nose, they may deposit in the lungs and lead to a condition called lipoid pneumonia, although this is usually caused by excessive use, rather than daily use"
Petroleum jelly - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I had no idea!

An older neighbor of mine uses vaseline (not globs, mind you, but a thin coating) and she has the most beautiful skin--she's in her late 80's and there are NO deep wrinkles of anykind. Yes, her skin is loose--it's been hanging there for 80+ years, but it's NOT wrinkled! No visible pores, either!

My grandfather used vaseline daily on his face. He passed at 93 and not a line on his face.
