For this reason, I was really excited when I opened an email from MAC Cosmetics last week and spotted this advertisement inside featuring a very muscular woman in a non-ironic manner. The subject of the email was “Fearless Femininity, Powerful Colour” which I think worked wonderfully with this photograph. The model looks gorgeous, strong and feminine, and I’m so happy MAC acknowledged that this is not only possible, but also admirable.
The print of the ad says, “Strike a beautiful pose, stand out and redefine the notion of beauty…” So hats off to you, MAC Cosmetics, you folks did an amazing job creating an ad campaign that shows the beauty of a muscular female body in a complimentary, gorgeous way.
Sorry but she doesn't look feminine at all. She looks like a manly bull dyke and a man wearing makeup in a dress. Women are supposed to be soft and delicate looking not hard and tough. I don't know why she or other women like her would want to have a tree trunk body.

Of course she looks feminine, but there has to be some photoshop at work there because anyone with arms like that usually has equally muscular abs which tend to widen the torso (I've heard it called Britney Spears syndrome)
Yes UE! My eye went straight to the photoshopped waist! I am so SICK of these manipulated, distorted images. The ad could have been a triumph, i.e. celebrating a "different" variety of beauty, but in the end the advertisers always insist on airbrushing, digitally enhancing, and photoshopping the female form into total unreality.
Well no surprise on the photoshopping. Everyone is these days. But I am always excited when "non traditional looking models" get play. Whether I aspire their look or not.
Jelena Abbou is the gal in the pic and she is BEAUTIFUL!!! Of course the photo is heavily photoshopped, but the gal is one of the most beautiful women you will ever see.
Everyone should remembe her from the Farenheit commercial:

Here is a pic of her without all the glitzy MAC fashion photoshopping. She's beautiful.
