Kids know when other kids their age are dressed strangely. Girls who are 11 years old don't want to be in dresses that look like a toddler should be wearing it. Perhaps Sasha isn't aware of how most 11 year olds dress today, but that seems rather unlikely she goes to school and parties with other kids her age. 11 year old girls don't dress in the little girl dresses that the Obamas put her in.
Perhaps you need to get out more, see children more often. Talk to them too.
