No actually my mom and I have similar bmi. She has a 23 in waist and 93 lbs at 4'11". Yet her stomach is straight and I guess the definition for this is undefined/defined waist. I looked up stuff. And apparently pears hourglasses and some inverted triangles have defined waists. My mom's actually more pear than anything. So that's kind of odd.
What can make a difference between a stomach or waist size is what is in the body. Those internal organs. They need a certain amount of room. If you are short, the chances are very good that your stomach will stick out and your waist is thick. If you are tall for your weight, the organs have more room.
Also, posture means a lot too. The woman with poor posture will usually stick out more than the same size and weight woman that uses her abdominal muscles to hold her gut in.
However, a shape is a shape is a shape. You can only change the muscle and fat, the bone shape and position stays for your life time. Get used to your body, it's the only one you will ever have. Watch the fat and use the muscles.
It all has to do with flat stomachs, were either that middle section is more pronounced or someone is skinnier and their hip bones stick out more than the stomach does.
When I stand up it sticks out a little but when I lay flat or stretch my hip bones stick out further than my stomach does and my pants will gap cause they'll so on my hip bones and not my stomach.
You see how Angelina's and Kim's actual stomach goes in above the belly button but Cameron's doesn't?
Oh well we were in totally different pages then but I do see what you mean, no that's not different body shapes and that's what happens when you work out and have abs.
I thought you were talking about the lower portion where the hips are, how some girls have a more rounded outward lower abdomen and others jeans gap because their abdomen is lower than their hips.
I'm a lot like the picture of Cameron Diaz, cept the area between my hips bones is lower than my hips so there is sometimes a gap between where the button is on my jeans and my skin, all depends on what I am wearing.
