I like the first two pictures the best---partial to the shorter hair. I definitely do not like the bangs.

Top two.

Nobody should shave it off unless they have to for work or similar. The paramilitary look is attractive on almost nobody. My husband is military, and even he doesn't go the shaved route. He did while he was in Iraq, due to the heat, but it wasn't his best look...it wasn't intended to be, though. Shaved heads run a higher risk of looking like crap than most other styles.

I'm a hairstylist and I say shave it.

If a man is receding, he will eventually go bald; and shaving is better than a bad toupee, or the dreaded comb over.
