I was also very fond of stir-up pants.
Oh yeah. They made your legs look like long, skinny triangles. And sometimes it felt like they were going to fall down if you moved your legs the wrong way.

I should clarify that I might consider Toughskins if I was the parent of a young child who was rough on clothes. The kids to whom I referred wore these through high school, long after they would have known better than to ruin their school clothes.

Don't remeber what they were called, but these men's pants from the late eighties
I called them wrestlers' pants or MC Hammer pants. The crotch was so low. You looked like you pooped in your pants.

Here's a spoof on MC Hammer dancing in them and getting all caught up in the extra fabric.

LOL yep. Of course a lot of homemade stuff was popular in the Punk era. Wearing your stuff backwards, ripping and sewing parts of different garments together, etc.

.
Or today's version--Justin Bieber poopy pants--

I remember my little brother wearing the "Toughskin" jeans (in the 60s). They were a Sears brand.

I think I once wore a Christmas sweater.

Other than that, I've got nothing.

You'd have to watch episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show or Rhoda to get what I'm talking about, but the worst fashion trend I can remember are cap-sleeved acrylic vests, usually horizontally striped, meant to be worn over a long-sleeved (probably nylon) shirt with ultra-long collar points.
If I recall correctly, this abomination can also be seen on episodes of One Day at a Time.

Those horrible bubble rompers from the 80's.

My mom made me wear one to my 8th grade graduation. I would rather have gone naked.

Yes, the 80's had legging and stretch pants (with a slightly higher waist) - and some wore the
leg warmers. What I find confusing is - what is the difference between yoga pants verses
leggings (other than in the 80's most females wore longer shirts to hide the "toe," didn't
advertise their behinds and were not shear). And many wore them with flats.

Ah the memories...

Does anyone remember the knickers that were very briefly fashionable in the late 60's. I was just a wee one but I remember my mom s friend made me the most gawdawful puce colored velvet knickers that had elastic so tight they cut off the circulation below my knees

during that same time frame I remember her wearing blouses with great big balloon sleeves, with lace or bows in the front

The only thing I can figure is it must have been the fashion to look like a romantic pirate or something!
