One man does not a trend make....

To me, it just looks like he slid it over his head, and in his hurry to get interviewed, just forgot to properly place it.

It kills me to watch that. Not the tie, but the fact that Patrick Willis, who is the best linebacker in football has retired.

The only new trend with ties that I want to see is... NO TIES. Ugh, I hate the things.

well, you and the other factions of your female gender should be smiling and telling us tie'd men when we are wearing them (men don't get offended by compliments)

otherwise,,,ties suck,,

and that fella in the video- looks like he just slipped it over his head.... just so he can say he wore a tie

Who wrote the rule on how a tie should be worn?

Does 'thinking outside the box' only apply to other things and not fashion?

For those that don't know, Patrick Willis was a darn good player for the 49ers(football team) who was making a second career as interior designer off the field. I don't think he just slipped that tie on in that manner just because he was late to his retirement press conference or to just slip it on .

Quite impressive, on the contrary. Don't you get bored with the usual way??

"Thinking outside the box" and idiocy are two different things.
