I agree! when I see younger or older women that are BIG, squeezed into tights and tight shirts or shirts showing their flabby mid-drift inner tubes just to follow the styles of today, I don't think they look good at all. The style just doesn't match their figures.
My motto: IF you look better in looser clothing, then to heck with the style. I go for comfort, not style.
Some of my clothes are baggy, some have bog padded shoulder. I do not know what time they are from, maybe the 90s, or 80, maybe? My sister was taking about pitching old things and said. " why do you not throw out some of those old clothes". I said, they are not hurting anything.
I haven't seen any chokers, chunky heals, flannels or overalls. Are you sure this is a true trend?
Chunky heels are big, here. Flannel, too. I haven't seen overalls, other than the Oshkosh B'gosh I put my 6-month old in. I haven't seen chokers, either, but when I do, I'll wear 'em.
As a man, I'm glad the long and baggy look that the 90s gave us has run its course. By the mid-90s, it seemed that all clothing for men was long and baggy and we had no other choices, unless you didn't mind the negative social consequences. Nothing against baggy, but it's nice to have a wider variety.
Haha. My parents wouldn't let me get TOO baggy with my jeans when I was younger. There were some ravers at school who would wear some ridiculous sized pants.
It's funny that like around 2000-6 that's when skinny jeans were becoming popular coming from the Hardcore and Emo and Punk scenes. A little later you saw regular kids/skaters wearing skinny jeans.
Now in some of the artier/hip circles horrible 90's fashion is making a comeback. Normcore, big jeans. Ugh.
I'm glad I have a work uniform and just wear t-shirts and 501s on the weekends, so I don't have to keep up with all of that.
