Personally, I do not think that any self respecting gay would be caught dead in flip flops....

Getting kind of defensive aren't you? OP asked for our thoughts and I gave mine. Why do you care what other people think about such a silly subject?

I never heard that there was a stigma and I'm a guy who has been living in flips from May to September for 40 years. The only stigma was mentioned on the first page, socks with sandals is a laughable offense.

Ha! I might ask you the same! Why are you so against them? Why do YOU care so much about a silly subject?

I just get REALLY tired of certain people saying that so-and-so should not wear this or wear that. People can wear what they want.

lol... i had NO IDEA there was even a stigma against men in sandals - in all my 40 years i've never encountered a stigma or heard anyone talk about it.

maybe it's b/c i tend to hang out with like minded people (parrot heads) ...

Where the hell did I say they couldn't wear them? I just said I'm not a foot fan and you freaked out. It's just an opinion, move on.

***buzz***....wrong answer!

I have lived in NYC, Philly and DC where a good majority of us self-respecting gays will wear flip-flops or sandals throughout Spring/Summer/Early Fall.

you know, it is pretty easy not to look at someone's feet. who goes around looking at other people's feet constantly unless you have some kind of foot fetish? you people have some severe hangups.

*looks down* "oh look at that guy's fugly feet! Ewwww totally not internet foot porn material! i am sooo offended. cover that up!"

people with ugly faces are at eye level, way more difficult to avoid looking at them and probably much more offensive. do you tell them to cover up their faces too? or do ya throw them peanuts?

I'm a gay guy living in the UK and I agree with rmm0484. I think flip-flops and sandals are gross. They look horrible and expose people's nasty feet.
