Growing up, I was called ugly and unattractive by some people and I never really got any attention from the opposite sex. I was wondering if there is any way that a guy could become more attractive in the face. If I were to rate myself on a scale of 1-10, I think I'd be maybe a 4 or 4.5. I wanted to hopefully change that to maybe a 6 or 6.5. I don't want to do anything radical or expensive like plastic surgery. I also dress pretty well and I take care of myself when it comes to hygiene, so I have no problems with that. I once posted on a Reddit section that judges looks and people said I looked average. I'm 18 but I think I look my age, I don't really have any facial hair, and I don't know if it matters much but I'm black. One feature that I got compliments before on are my eyes but that's pretty much it.

Smile and listen to other folks when they talk, then they'd not really care what your face looks like. Mostly just a pleasant expression should be enough. A lot of folks walk around looking like their favorite pet just died, no matter how beautiful or handsome they are, they still don't look good. If you've got a nice smile and a fairly happy outlook, everyone is gonna be glad to see you.

The only people who are big on giving people a number rating for their looks are men on dating sites. If you're not trying to attract those men, then don't worry about giving yourself a number for your looks.

With nice clothes, a good hairstyle for the shape of your face, and a happy, friendly personality, you'll do fine.

You'll also get more shape to your face as you get older.

I think it is very curious that so many cannot seem to accept themselves as they are and be successful in life when so many before them have proven that one's physical appearance does not hinder anything they don't allow it to.
One very successful example is Seal, he has a form of Lupus that scars the skin above the neck yet he is still Seal.....

Well for me it's because I got made fun of a lot growing up because of how I looked, so naturally I'm curious as to how it feels to be one of the good looking people. Obviously beauty is subjective, but I do think there are some objectively attractive people out there. For example, many women wouldn't say that Channing Tatum is ugly. I probably will never be objectively attractive but I want to feel good looking.

Geez! Cut the kid some slack. Not everyone has 100 years of experience roaming the planet.

I don't have much facial hair and I do shave. I'll admit, I don't smile all the time because walking around with a smile all the time would feel weird and unnatural. People have also told me that I have a serious look but I can't help it because that's how my face looks naturally.

Play around with your facial hair. It can be quite transformative.

Good personal hygiene, including white teeth, keeping your hair nice (clean, trimmed, good style for you).
Use your eyes - smile and make direct eye contact. Be positive. It's your heart that makes you most attractive.
