I find her sense of style rather dowdy, but her choice of pantyhose is rather good, because it gives a polished look to practically all dresses of different colors. And particularly when it comes to black cocktail dresses I'd say, because when they are sleeveless/short sleeved, black pantyhose don't look right. (When long sleeved - that's a different story.)
And I don't care whether it's stockings or pantyhose - they look more appropriate with dresses, unless of course we are talking about the sun dresses and flip flops - that kind of thing.
So...is that why pantyhose are BACK on the store shelves again after 15 yrs of not being able to find many??
Your comments make me want to go out now and buy them....and wear them...just SO you can SHUDDER. IN. A. HUGE. WAY.
I have a couple of parties coming up during the holidays. I would love to wear a dress. I am 45 and in pretty good shape, but my legs have some issues. I have some spider veins and a few varicose veins staring to peak through. They would look great with the coverage and support of hose, but hose seem to be completely taboo nowadays.
Thoughts?
Spider veins., or most ANY vein issues can be removed and made better by a good Vascular Surgeon. Insurance often covers the procedures. If they really bother you, check that out. Otherwise, I'd never let other's opinions RE:wearing pantyhose to a holiday party stop me from it. They make shimmery ones, ones with designs in the weave, etc now. Better than pasty, white and BARE legs.
They still make pantyhose? I haven't seen them in years!
Yes. 17% upsurge projected . Dance groups ( Rockettes), majorettes, many skilled and talented professional still consider these stockings worthy of wear. Granted if you aren't an admirer or consumer of such..It's probably not something in your immediate awareness...
Yet yes,the industry will have a market for this item .
I will also add that my legs are pasty-white by the time the holidays roll around, and I have reacted to every self-tanner I have tried. It's not pretty.
I would just be careful on the shade of "nude" you choose. If your arms and face are also pale, it might look off to have tanned legs.
I hate them because I find them very uncomfortable. I don’t mind one bit if YOU wear them!
