Suggestions regarding brand/style? Only you know what kind of style you like.

Athletic? Pointy-toe? Round-toe? Leather? Canvas? Shiny? Colorful? Sequins? Embroidery?

You don't want hideously ugly? What do you consider hideously ugly?

Go shopping.

Or go to zappos.com and use filters to navigate to the kind you like.

These look promising, but you might find them hideously ugly.

Good list of links there. Glad to expand my knowledge of quality sources. Really nice, thanks!

The new Allbirds look super cute, and the other ones I have are comfy so I’d recommend without trying them on yet.

I also have the wool loungers and they are awesome for travel. I can walk in them all day, stand, and walk far. A smidge less comfy than sneakers.

Say no to Rothy’s. They are cute but not comfy. No support, no padding, thin soles and no give.

And I am sure you can find a great pair of Eccos as well.

Check out New Balance. They have slip-on shoes for women. In fact, I got a pair some years back with the intention of wearing them when I went through the TSA check.

+1 for Tieks, they're great travel shoes but don't really have arch support. I have high arches and use inserts in mine and they're fine.

Many credit cards cover the cost. Our Capital One Venture did.

How about Sketchers?

Haven't bought Nike since Nike signed him. I also went down to the fabric place and got a few USA Flag iron-on patches which I put over the swoosh emblem of my previously purchased items. In fact their shoes are inferior by comparison to New Balance and I'm rediscovering how great Adidas is. Say by by to Nike, the brand for USA Haters.
